What DVET HRMS Is (and What It Is Not)
DVET HRMS is an employee portal. It keeps your service details, attendance, leave, salary and similar records in one place.
It is not the portal for ITI student admission. That is a separate website, admission.dvet.gov.in. Some pages online mix the two up, and a few even expand “DVET” wrongly. DVET here means Directorate of Vocational Education and Training.
| Portal | Website | For whom |
|---|---|---|
| DVET HRMS | hrms.dvet.gov.in | DVET employees and ITI staff |
| DVET Admission | admission.dvet.gov.in | Students applying to ITIs |
How to Do DVET HRMS Login
Use only the official portal: hrms.dvet.gov.in. The login page asks for a username and password, and shows a “Forgot your password?” link.
- Open hrms.dvet.gov.in in your browser.
- Choose Marathi or English at the top right. If you prefer Marathi, the same Login button works as “लॉगिन करा”.
- Click Login at the top right.
- Enter your username and password.
- Click Login to open your dashboard.
Your username and first password are sent to you by SMS and email when you register, according to the official manual. If you were registered before 31 July 2018, the manual says you must log in with the default password first and then set a new one.
Login With Mobile Number?
The official login page shows only a username and a password field. Some third-party sites say you can log in with a mobile number or email, and some say the username is your Sevaarth ID. I could not confirm either point on the official pages. Use the username you received by SMS or email, and call the helpline if you are unsure.
Common Login Problems
| Problem | What to do | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Forgot password | Use the “Forgot your password?” link below the Login button | The reset link is the official way to get a new password |
| Do not know your username | Check old SMS and email from registration | Login details were sent to your registered mobile and email |
| Old profile, default password | Log in with the default password, then change it | The manual requires this for profiles made before 31 July 2018 |
| Still stuck | Call 1800-120-1696 or email hrms@dvet.edu.in | These are the support details on the official login page |
DVET HRMS Registration
If you have never used the portal, register first. The official manual describes this process:
- Open hrms.dvet.gov.in and click Register.
- Fill the form. Fields marked with a star (*) are compulsory.
- Enter your primary mobile number and click Send OTP.
- Type the OTP you receive on that number.
- Click Register.
- You will get a success message, and your login details arrive on your email and mobile.
| Registration tip | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Use a mobile number you actively use | The OTP and login details go there |
| Give a correct email ID | Login details are also sent by email |
| Never share your OTP or password | Anyone with these can see and change your service data |
DVET HRMS Profile: What to Fill
After login, your profile dashboard shows the sections you must complete. Colours show the status of what you submitted. You can also print your profile from the dashboard.
When all sections are done, click Send for Verification. The button then changes to “Request Sent”. An approver checks your data and clicks “Save and Verify”. Verified mandatory sections turn green.
Why this matters: Transfer, promotion and other services in the portal depend on correct and verified service data. A wrong posting date or missing certificate can hold up your verification.
How to Download DVET HRMS Salary Slip
According to the official user guide, after you log in:
| Task | Menu path |
|---|---|
| See this month’s salary | Salary → My Salary |
| See earlier months | My Salary → View past salary details (choose financial year) |
| Open salary slips | Salary → Pay Slip |
| Income tax calculation | Tax information → Income Tax Calculation |
| Form 16 | Tax information → Generate Form 16 (choose financial year) |
You can also declare investments (such as HRA and other allowances) under the tax section. The status shows as approved, pending or not applicable.
If your salary slip is missing: The manual says approvers process the salary, then use “Generate Salary Slip”. So a slip for the latest month may simply not be generated yet. Check with your office or the helpline before assuming a fault.
Keep a PDF or printout of each slip. Banks, loan providers and tax filing usually ask for it.
Attendance and Leave on DVET HRMS
| Service | How it works (per official manual) |
|---|---|
| View attendance | Attendance → My Attendance. Switch between month, week and day views |
| Daily record | Attendance comes from the biometric system. You can also add attendance for a date |
| Approval | Approvers can approve or reject attendance that employees add |
| Apply for leave | Leave Details → Apply for leave. Add leave type, dates and reason |
| Leave types | Earned, casual, half pay, converted, advance and special leaves such as study, maternity and childcare |
| Leave balance and history | Leave Details → My Leave Balance and My Leave History |
| Holidays | Leave Details → List of Holidays |
Special leaves need valid reasons and proof, so keep documents ready before you apply.
Other Services in the Portal
The manual also covers services beyond salary and leave. Which ones you see depends on your role.
| Service | What it covers |
|---|---|
| Loans and Advances | Apply for a loan and track status |
| LTA | Apply for Hometown Visit or Maharashtra Darshan, and claim reimbursement |
| Transfer | Retain applications and location preferences for eligible employees |
| Performance Appraisal | Self-appraisal and reporting or reviewing officer comments |
| Training | Training list, rejoining details, personal training profile |
| Retirement | Apply for voluntary retirement, view dues and forms |
| Discipline | View case status and file an appeal |
The home page also lists three manuals: HRMS Manual, Retain Application and Location Preferences. The HRMS Manual PDF on the site carries a July 2019 date, so some menu names may look different today.
DVET HRMS App Download
The official home page has an Android app banner. It links to a file on Google Drive, not to a store page. Third-party app sites list the app as “DVET (HRMS)” by Talisma Corp, built for government ITIs in Maharashtra. They describe it mainly as an attendance tool (punch in and out). Their listing shows version 1.0.5, with the latest update shown as January 2020 on one site.
| Point | What I found |
|---|---|
| Where to get it | Banner on hrms.dvet.gov.in |
| What it does | Mainly attendance, per third-party listings |
| iPhone app | None found |
| Without the app | Open hrms.dvet.gov.in in your phone browser |
Scam warning: Install the app only through the link on the official home page. Do not download APKs from random sites, and never enter your password on a website with a similar-looking name. Official government portals end in gov.in.
DVET HRMS Visiting Faculty
Many people search for “DVET HRMS visiting faculty”. I checked the official home page and both official manuals. None of them mentions a visiting faculty module, registration or payment process. I cannot confirm that such a feature exists on this portal.
If you are a visiting faculty member or guest instructor, ask your ITI principal or regional DVET office how your engagement and payment are recorded. Use the helpline only to ask whether your category can register on HRMS.
